RSVP Events Founder, Meeting Planner

Renee Smith is a driven, highly motivated, hardworking event professional with over 19 years’ experience association event planning, international trade shows and conventions, city-wide festivals, award shows, gala banquets, fundraisers, and weddings. She thrives in multi-faceted projects with many moving parts and has an "eagle-eye for detail." 

Client focused with impeccable organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, Renee has a long history coordinating a multitude of different types of events from  small intimate gatherings to annual meetings with 4,000 attendees and 36 concurrent sessions. 

Renee was in business economics for three years at University of California, Santa Barbara before switching majors from Accounting to English Literature.  Her diverse background in finance and language arts gives her a unique perspective on working with corporations and associations; she can speak both CEO and CFO without skipping a beat! 

Renee is an expert in solving problems on-site and acts calmly and logically in the face of advertisity. Events that she has organized and/or helped planned include: Santa Barbara Ocean Festival; Santa Barbara Harbor Parade of Lights; Santa Barbara Whale Festival; The Muscular Dystrophy Association Black and Blue Ball; Women's Economic Ventures Awards Ceremonies; California Economic Forecast Events; Beacon Economics Forecasts; Society for Personality and Social Psychology annual conferences; Cognitive Neuroscience Society annual conferenced;  Early Intervention in Mental Health annual conferences; and more. 

Renee is a registered Girl Scout and regional volunteer coordinator for the Sierra Pines Service Unit 153.
